Who We Are
Established in 1993, Earth Works Institute (EWI) is a Santa Fe-based non-profit organization that helps communities grow toward economic resilience through environmental health. We call such resilient and environmentally responsible communities EcoWise Communities. EWI pursues its EcoWise Communities campaign from the ground up, by empowering youth, mobilizing communities and facing climate change!
What We Do
Organizing and educating community-driven land stewardship coalitions of schools, youth groups, farmers and ranchers, suburban, rural, tribal and land conservation groups.
Promoting bio-technical land stewardship solutions working with private landowner, public agencies and tribes and demonstration projects.
Connecting people to the land through outdoor education, promotion of local food production, restoration activities, with an emphasis on rural and open space areas in a watershed context.
Employing a youth climate corps to reduce carbon footprint, equip young adults for careers and mobilize the will of communities to act.
